CEO NOTES: Inside The ARknet Platform

Tautachrome’s ARknet Platform lets both consumers and businesses populate their environment with ARks, our term for interactive geolocated virtual interfaces. Geolocated means that the ARk lives in a fixed spot in the world. Interactive means that a user can get information from the ARk, or put information into the ARK. And virtual means that the ARk is not really there; it shows up when you use your ARknet app equipped smartphone. Using the Platform, anybody can put up an ARk, so that others can interact with it. A business can use an ARks in the store to show and sell products. Grandma on the other hand, could park an ARk in her drive way containing notes for the grandkids.

The Platform is designed to accommodate small, medium and large businesses and has bundled together elements of user interaction that are important to usage, including video, user privacy, data security, user ownership of creatives, and blockchain enhanced commerce.

For small business, our Platform provides a full featured and functioning AR-enabled mobile marketplace, “MainSt.Shopping,” that lets the business conveniently package its sales process from marketing to delivery, allowing consumers to buy goods and services directly via the business’s Ark.

The Platform is now integrating physical MainSt “HUB Stores” into local areas that showcase the products and services of multiple local providers. The HUB Store has its own virtual interface (its ARk). This gives local residents the ability to shop via the HUB’s virtual interface with many local area businesses and home-based vendors within a single local store, the HUB Store. Or the shopper can come into the HUB and shop in person. What a concept!

Our initial pilot HUB, in West Warwick RI, is quickly increasing its number of Storefronts and Service providers because of the ease of having their products and services featured at no cost. The sentiment is “Adding another channel where my products can show up here in town is a no brainer.” Our West Warwick pilot has added as many as 12 new stores and service providers per day. The number of products listed in the pilot HUB is over 700 and growing fast. In addition, ARknet has seen an increase in Retail shops and Service providers willing to hang a shingle on the Platform’s MainSt Shopping.

The HUB concept appears to be an important element to both businesses and shoppers, adding an Amazon-like small business feature to the Platform. We look forward to understanding how this concept can be fully and rightly realized.
